giclee PRINT of original watercolor painting
When I was a kid I liked to walk down the crick to pick marsh marigolds for my mom. I would take my time, sitting by the mossy rocks and mud. Quill-like horsetails would poke me in the back and I would pick them apart, tossing the pieces into the water. Red winged blackbirds and Yellow Warblers came and went, singing their hellos and goodbyes, and I would finally wander home, marigolds in hand. Mom would always put them in clear, quart canning jar placed in the middle of the table, where we could all see them and their petals that almost immediately began to fall.
