Afterlife

I came across the skeleton of a deer in the woods. I sat quietly nearby, listening to the forest grow, breathe, and die. The lush ferns and flowers spread out from that spot like a memorial garden, and as I sat in silence, another deer approached, lowered her head and began to graze.
